The ability of AI to recognize objects in pictures is a step, but the real AI goal is learning to make sense of what is actually going on in the images. Visual Genome is an image database developed by researchers at Stanford Artificial Intelligence Lab to focus in on some of the hardest questions in computer vision, which they hope will bridge the gap between perception and cognition.
