An AR (augmented reality) viewer is being built directly into Microsoft’s Windows 10. At its MicrosoftEDU New York City Event, Microsoft demonstrated the new technology as it was being used in an educational capacity. The feature is called View Mixed Reality and it is expected to be available in Windows 10 in Fall 2017. The best news is that no headset will be required. Instead the new feature will allow users to view 3D content using a Windows 10 PC or tablet with a compatible webcam. The feature will be built into Microsoft’s Paint 3D app. See the video demo here.
