The “Gooligan” strain of Android malware has infected as many as 1.3 million Android phones since August, 2016. Once Gooligan “opens” the device, it forces users to download apps as part of a huge advertising fraud scheme. Check Point’s researchers have determined that hundreds of businesses’ Google accounts also have been hit in what is believed to be the biggest single theft of Google accounts on record.
