Sandia researchers for the first time forcefully embedded two silicon atoms in a diamond matrix and demonstrated all the components needed to create a quantum bridge to link many small quantum computers together. Because quantum correlations allow all the atoms in the network to behave as though they were one single atom, distributing quantum information on a bridge, or network, could enable various forms of quantum sensing and propel further research and innovation.
